# VIDEOGAP

## What is it?

VIDEOGAP defines the place in the video file from which the playback should start in seconds.

Negative value means that the video should be played from the beginning but start only after defined number of seconds.

## What is it used for?

To resynchronize video and audio. Audio playback always starts immediately. Negative VIDEOGAP value means that the video playback should begin later - after audio playback. Positive value means that video should start immediately but be rewined e.g.

-3.2 VIDEOGAP: audio playback will start with no video at first, video playback will start only when 3.2 seconds pass.

3.2 VIDEOGAP: video playback will start together with audio but not from the start - from the frame at 3.2 seconds.

## How to determine the value?

By trial and error. Just set some value and check the song in the game to check if audio and video tracks are synchronized.

## Technical requirements

Valid VIDEOGAP:

* can be both negative and positive,
* can be a real number e.g. *3.2,*
* is expressed in seconds.

## Example in TXT file

```
#VIDEOGAP:-3.2
```

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://karedi.gitbook.io/karedi/next-level/txt-file-format/tags/videogap.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
