There are several ways in which a note can be added. Unless specified otherwise, the new note will start where the time marker currently is or, if you have some notes selected, right after the last selected note.

With a mouse

To add a note using a mouse press ctrl key on your keyboard and while holding it, click in the place where you want your note to begin in the main editor and drag the mouse to the beat where you want it to end.

With note tapping

You can add multiple notes easily with the help of note tapping. Refer to to learn more.

Using toolbar action

You can add new note that will begin from the beat where the currently is via a button in the toolbar.

With a shortcut

With focus in the main editor use ctrl + enter shortcut (if you want to add a note after the current one/marker) or shifg + enter (if you want to add a note before the current one/marker)

From the menu

Go to the menu Edit -> Add -> Note after / Note before.

By pasting
