# Resizing notes

Karedi supports multiple ways of changing the notes length.

### Move the start or end by one beat with shortcuts or via menu

To move the note's start, use `ctrl + ←` or `ctrl + →` shortcut.

To move the note's end, use `alt + ←` or `alt + →` shortcut.

You can also do the same actions from the menu *Edit* -> *Start/End* -> *Earlier/Later*.

### Set the desired length by typing it out

To set the length of the selected note to the desired value just type out the desired legth, e.g. if you want to change the length to 12 beats just press "1" key and immediately after that press "2" key. If you are too slow, Karedi will interpret it as two length changes - first to length 1 and later to length 2.

### Resize the note with the mouse

Hover your mouse over left or right edge of the note until you see cursor change to ⭤ symbol. Now click and drag the mouse until the notes has the desired length.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://karedi.gitbook.io/karedi/user-interface/middle-components/main-editor/managing-notes/resizing-notes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
